More Than A Teacher

More Than a Teacher is a youth development programme that helps aspiring educators/coaches from local communities get teacher/coach training. We work with schools to provide these aspiring educators/coaches with mentors and to monitor their academic progress. We also help them with personal, professional, and spiritual development.

We believe in a holistic approach to training that focuses on personal, social, emotional, spiritual, and cognitive development. To support this approach, we use the Bible as the text for student formation, which is also known as discipleship.

We encourage schools from both the public and private sectors to work together to strengthen the training of future graduates. We also provide opportunities for student teachers/coaches to learn in both public and private contexts. We encourage diversity and tolerance for differences and provide volunteer opportunities in townships, rural communities, and informal settlements.

We work with experienced educators, retired principals, independent education consultants, and field experts to shape our teaching methods.
