Visual Arts Educator Locum Post

Job Summary/Key Duties:

Applicant Requirements
• A born-again Christian who desires to actively support the school’s Christian discipleship vision
• Superior knowledge and skill in Visual Arts
• IEB experience in Grade 12 Visual Arts and PAT examination requirements
• Have excellent understanding of artistic process and practice
• Must be approachable, comfortable, confident and effective when liaising with parents and staff
• Adherence to professional ethics and the maintenance of a professional school environment
• Excellent planning, organising and administrative skills, with attention to detail
• Advanced computer literacy
• Willing to get involved in extramural programme especially sport
• Strong planning, organisational and administrative skills, with attention to detail
• Skilled in using technology to enhance teaching, learning and administration
• Committed to maintaining a professional, ethical and Christ-centred classroom environment
• Be available from 26th February 2027 – 25 June 2027

Qualifications/Requirements:

Responsibilities

• Create a dynamic and engaging learning environment
• Plan, control, record and report on assessments
• Guide matric learners in the process of their PAT examination and communication of their progress to parents
• Attend relevant meetings, workshops and forums as required
• Promote and participate in school cultural and sporting activities
• Offer differentiated teaching and additional support for learners with barriers to learning
• Fulfil administrative duties, including textbook orders and register teacher responsibilities
• Participate in extracurricular and general school activities as needed

Key Competencies

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues, learners and parents
• An appropriate degree and a relevant teaching qualification
• SACE Registration
• A passion for both subjects, inspiring learners to build a strong foundation in critical thinking and problem-solving
• The ability to inspire, motivate and model Christian character in all areas of school life
