Foundation Phase Educator – Grades R–3

Job Summary/Key Duties:

Champions Combined Academy is seeking a dedicated, passionate and suitably qualified Foundation Phase Educator to join our team for the 2027 academic year.
We are looking for a committed Christian educator who understands the importance of early childhood development and is passionate about establishing strong academic, social, emotional and spiritual foundations for young learners.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Minimum Requirements

• A recognised professional teaching qualification appropriate for the Foundation Phase.
• Current SACE registration.
• Fluency in English and Afrikaans.
• A sound understanding of Foundation Phase curriculum delivery, assessment and learner development.
• Strong classroom management, organisational and communication skills.
• The ability to create a positive, stimulating and structured learning environment.
• A committed Christian with strong Christian beliefs who is willing to uphold and promote the school’s Christian ethos.
• Willingness to participate in extracurricular activities will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons for learners in Grades R–3.
• Implement the relevant curriculum and assess learner progress effectively.
• Develop learners’ foundational literacy, numeracy, language and life skills.
• Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
• Monitor learner development and provide appropriate support where needed.
• Maintain accurate assessment records and learner reports.
• Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues regarding learner progress.
• Promote Christian values, positive behaviour and holistic learner development.
